The basics.
I’m turning 44 this year (today, actually). Geesh, 44 years old – that is starting to sound “old” – but I still don’t feel that old and I really hope I’m not acting my age, yet. The tacking on of another year combined with my son heading to middle school next year got me to thinking – thinking about how time keeps moving by and doesn’t slow down (or turn around) for the things we didn’t get...

Fuel.
Have you ever wondered what fuels you? Not like a good breakfast or those 6 Red Bulls you have every day. No…more like what gets you motivated and energized. I was feeling very unmotivated a while back and asked myself that very question. So being the “fixer” type, I took some time to really think about my answer.
Sure, these things are “no-brainers” and seem to be common sense. I didn’t uncover...

The hard “things” in life.
Do you ever wonder why life seems to just suck sometimes? I’m not talking about the occasional headache or bad day. I’m talking about the bad weeks, months, years or the single events that cut right through your very being leaving behind a scar and set of memories that will keep that scar fresh. I wonder why more than I care to, and I’m wondering why today. Again.
I’m not claiming to have the...

Night Longboarding
My son and I went longboarding tonight. I say “tonight” because it was dark by the time we got to the trail we ride. We knew it would be dark and went prepared. I purchased a set of three Brinkmann 5 LED Headlights from Home Depot. These were super cheap ($16.00) and came with batteries. I took the head straps off and used a Velcro strap - the kind you’d use to wrap cables...

Thoughts on using new paint...
So let me start off by stating that I’m no expert on, nor am I claiming to be even that good at graffiti. But I have gone through enough cans to be able to form an opinion of paint and how I use it.
I’ve been experimenting and learning how to paint for just over a year now. During that year I have become a huge fan of Ironlak for a few reasons: coverage, color choices, smell and low...

Manifest Bombing
Let me start off by thanking and giving credit to my creative colleague and friend Steve Gordon Jr for giving me the idea of posting images from the week. Steve has been rolling out his RDQLUS Dropshots over at rdqlus.com for some time now and they are always a treat. So thanks Steve, I really do appreciate it!!
So I’m going to give this a try. As I go through a week (notice I didn’t...

Longboarding
So I started to longboard this spring. I’ve always been interested/amazed by skateboarding - did a little in college but wasn’t very good. I rode behind everyone mostly. Any way, I love it. I’m not very good at it, but I love it. I have improved a bit from where I started and hopefully I’ll continue to improve.
I bought my first board (Sector 9) from BC in the mall since...
