Fourteen Years…

Fourteen years ago bags were packed and a short drive was made to a hospital. Within that day we went from joking around to a scene straight out of ER to meeting Enzo for the first time. Life has never been the same since. To this day, I tear up a bit thinking about the past 14 years and how my son has grown into a young man. Everyday he makes me proud to be his father and to be a part of his life. I’ve never been in National Honor Society, had a 4.0 GPA, or earned any of the many academic awards Enzo has. I’m looking forward to seeing him continue to learn and carve out his place in this world.

Happy birthday, Enzo. You motivate me, inspire me and most of all you make me try harder. I love you. You’re “the best kid ever.” I wish you all the happiness the world has to offer.
